Built on Bold Beginnings

In 1958, Norman Sedelbauer and his son-in-law Charles Bacon pooled their savings and founded Bauer Products in Michigan. What started as a small shop with die-casting machines quickly became a name trusted worldwide—crafting thousands of T-handles a day and even designing locker handles for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. From the very start, Bauer built its reputation on strength, reliability, and ingenuity.

Generations of Innovation

As the company grew, so did the family’s commitment to solving real-world problems. When trailer and RV owners complained about carrying too many keys, Bauer pioneered keyed-alike lock systems—transforming convenience on the road. From early robotics in manufacturing to custom solutions that put customers first, each generation carried forward the same dedication: creating products that make travel simpler, safer, and smarter.

Moving Forward with Confidence

Today, Bauer Products is leading the way in connected security. Our Bluetooth keyless entry handles bring modern technology to RVs and trailers—built strong, designed smart, and trusted by adventurers everywhere. With every innovation, we honor our heritage while moving boldly into the future. Bauer isn’t just a lock company—it’s a modern security brand, built on decades of trust and driven by what’s next.
